Professional profile/background:

First degree in PPE, Oxford, graduated 1988.  Investment banking industry 1988 - 1992.  Qualified from Bart's in 1997.  Anaesthetics training in east London 1999 - 2001.  Registrar training in the South West.  I completed a fellowship in paediatric/congenital cardiac anaesthesia and intensive care at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle and worked there as a consultant from 2007 to 2014.  I have considerable experience in both paediatric and adult congenital cardiac anaesthesia, mechanical support, ventricular assist devices and transplantation - I have anaesthetised over sixty patients for heart and lung transplantation.  I passed the BSE TOE exam in 2011.

I returned to Bristol Children's Hospital in June 2014 where I have a mixed practice of paediatric cardiac and general paediatric anaesthesia.
