Professional profile/background:

A consultant paediatric oncologist since 1998, I was lead
clinician for 8 years, and led the neuro-oncology service until
handing over to my colleagues in 2017, introducing many new service
developments
I oversee treatment for all children, teenagers and young adults
who reside in the areas with the Royal Cornwall Hospital,
Treliske (Truro) and Yeovil District Hospital areas
I have previously been a member of the NCRI Clinical Studies
Group for Children's Cancer and Leukaemia, of the NHS England
Clinical Reference Group for Children's Cancer, and of the South
West Clinical Senate. I was chair of the Children's Cancer and
Leukaemia Group (CCLG) Special Interest Group for Neuro-oncology,
for the CCLG Education and Training Group, and was secretary of the
CCLG until 2018. I was chair of the RCPCH Special Advisory
Committee for Oncology until 2016, and remain an active member. I
am chair of the SIOP Europe Brain tumour working group Education
committee, and have worked to align training for neuro-oncology
throughout Europe
I have an active research interest, and will lead the
forthcoming SIOP-Europe trial, ATRT-01
