Professional profile/background:

Trained in Paediatrics in Cardiff, Birmingham and Leicester. First training in Paediatric Intensive Care and Retrieval Medicine at Leicester Royal Infirmary, followed by training appointments at Birmingham Childrens Hospital, Glenfield Hospital in Leicester as an ECMO fellow, British Columbias Childrens Hospital in Vancouver, Great Ormond Street Hospital, and as Chief Registrar at the Royal Childrens Hospital in Melbourne. Appointed as a Consultant in Bristol in 2003 and became Director of PICU in 2007.

Particular interest in paediatric critical care epidemiology and organisation as a member of the PICANet Clinical Advisory Group and as medical lead of the South West Audit of Critically Ill Children. Also a member of the Chapter XB Expert Working Group for the NHS Information Centre developing the Paediatric Critical Care Minimum Data Set.
