Professional profile/background:

James was appointed as a Consultant in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children in 1999. Prior to that he completed training at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, and the Royal Childrens Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. 

James was Clinical Director of the PICU between 2002 and 2007.
