What is IBD: IBD stands for Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

The two most common forms are Crohn's Disease (often just called Crohn's) and

Ulcerative Colitis (UC). In both UC and Crohn's parts of the digestive system (the gut),

which includes the intestines or 'bowels', become sore and inflamed.

Crohn's can affect any part of the digestive system from the mouth to the anus.

UC affects the colon (large intestine) and rectum.

Who is the event for:

The educational evening is targeted at both new and long term sufferers of IBD and their relatives.

All are welcome from the Southwest and South Wales.

Why should I come:

We are pleased to have Dr Melanie Lockett (Consultant Gastroenterologist at the NBT) and her medical colleagues at the event. They will provide an overview of the latest aspects of IBD covering a wide range of topics associated with the disease as shown on the agenda.

There will also be extra time for your questions.

What if I have mobility problems:

The event is at ground level and easily accessible. Please let us know when you register and we can make arrangements for the vehicle barrier to be raised when you arrive.

What is the cost:

The educational event is free of charge, although donations are always welcome to enable us to carry on our valuable work in supporting patients and funding research into the disease.

Please note the on-site multi-storey car park costs £4 for 2-4 hours.
