University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust has recruited
its 10,000th Foundation Trust member.
Jack Roberts, aged eight, from Portishead, thought it was cool
to be the 10,000th member to sign up, and couldnt wait to tell his
friends.
As a Foundation Trust the organisation is encouraging a real,
representative cross-section of the community to become
members. Membership includes the opportunity to be involved
in shaping future Trust plans, and to have a say in developing and
improving the services it provides.
The Trust is hoping to recruit more young people and is holding
its first Foundation Trust event for younger members - My
Hospitals, My Say on Saturday 31 January. The event is sponsored by
Above and Beyond Charities. Young members will be asked how they
want to be involved in the Trust and what issues are important to
them.
Maria Fox, Membership Manager for the Trust, says: Recruiting
our 10,000th member is such a great achievement - over 10,000
people now are able to have a say in the service our eight
hospitals provide. University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation
Trust is committed to reflect the diverse and vibrant City we
serve, and its important that people of all ages and backgrounds
get involved to help us to provide the best service and care
possible.
There are three easy ways to join the Foundation Trust as a
member: visit the Trust web site www.uhbristol.nhs.uk, email foundationtrust@uhbristol.nhs.uk
or telephone 0117 342 3764.
