New board members for University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust

Kelvin Blake and Paul May both started three-year terms of office on the Foundation Trusts board from November 2008.

Kelvin Blake is the Head of the Public Sector Relations team for BT Global Services.

He is responsible for good working relations between BT and the public sector customers throughout the UK.

 With help of funding from the Grand Appeal charity, UH Bristol has employed its first Young Persons Involvement Worker to work with  young people and encourage their active participation  in the Trust.

Bristol nurses are top winners at this years Nursing Times Awards

Two nurses from University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust have received the most prestigious prize in nursing.

Emma Fisher and Claire Bohr scooped awards at this years Nursing Times Awards held on 12 November. No other hospital in the country received two awards, making this an outstanding achievement for the Trust.

Hospitals across Bristol are reminding people to avoid visiting if they have had symptoms of diarrhoea and vomiting in the previous 48 hours.
 
Over the past few weeks, cases of Norovirus - the winter vomiting virus - have increased in the community.
