Have your say on Children’s Heart Services

Anyone with an interest in childrens heart services is being encouraged to have their say on how childrens heart services are organised in England, following a national review and the recommendation of four options.

In February, the Safe and Sustainable review panel recommended four options for public consultation and Bristol Royal Hospital for Children has been included in all four options.

The period of public consultation on these options is now underway. A public consultation event will be held at: Taunton Racecourse on 7 June 2011 from 3-5pm

Dr Jackie Cornish, Head of the Division of Women's and Children's Services, says:

We are delighted that Bristol Royal Hospital for Children has been included in all four options and that the high quality of our services, the dedication and commitment of our staff and the outcomes for our patients have been recognised this way.

We want to encourage as many people to come along as possible. If you or someone you know is interested in or has been affected by heart services at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children please do give your feedback.

Please come along and show your support for Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.  You must register in advance by phone 0845 363 1478 or register online at www.specialisedservices.nhs.uk/safeandsustainable

For information and to have a say on the consultation, which runs until 1 July 2011, visit the Review of Childrens Congenital Cardiac Services section on www.specialisedservices.nhs.uk/safeandsustainable
