Dr Joanna Robson
MBBS PhD FRCP (UK)
Training
I qualified from Barts and the London School of Medicine and
Dentistry, including an intercalated PhD in Neurogenetics. My house
and SHO jobs were completed in East London before joining the
Oxford Deanery Registrar rotation. I completed an NIHR Clinical
lectureship at the University of Oxford focused on clinical care of
people with Vasculitis and research projects in outcome
measurement.
Areas of interest
I have a specialist clinical and research interest in vasculitis
(e.g Giant Cell Arteritis, Large vessel vasculitis, ANCA associated
vasculitis) and connective tissue diseases (e.g. Lupus).
We are an NHS England specialist centre for CTD and Vasculitis
and I run the regional MDT for approval of Tocilizumab in people
with GCA. I participate in combined clinics and clinical meetings
with colleagues from respiratory, dermatology, ophthalmology and
obstetrics, and support patients with CTD or vasculitis
transitioning from paediatric care at the Bristol Royal Hospital
for Children.
I am the principle investigator for registry and interventional
trials for people with vasculitis at UHBristol. I am a Consultant
Senior Lecturer at UWE Bristol, with an interest in health related
quality of life in rare rheumatic diseases. I lead the
international development of a patient reported outcome measure for
ANCA associated vasculitis (the AAV-PRO), giant cell arteritis (the
GCA PRO) and a PROM for people using glucocorticoids (the Steroid
PRO). https://people.uwe.ac.uk/Person/JoRobson
