A Beginner's Guide to Clinical Audit
This one day workshop provides a grounding in
clinical audit methodology for healthcare professionals. This one
day workshop provides a grounding in clinical audit methodology for
healthcare professionals. There are a maximum of 15 places on every
workshop, which are free to UHBristol staff.
Limited numbers of places are available to NHS staff from
local healthcare community areas at a charge of £50 per person.
During this session, the following subjects are
- what clinical audit is and what it isn't
- how to develop project objectives and measurable standards
- how to design effective data collection tools
- basic sampling techniques and data analysis
- tips on audit report writing and presentations
Workshops run from 09:00am until 11:30am.
You can also bring along any project ideas that you
are working on to get specific advice from our team of Clinical
Audit Facilitators after the workshop.

Essential Excel for Clinical Audit
We are now providing training in using Excel to analyse
audit data, covering the essential skills of sorting, filtering,
using formulae and producing charts. These skills may also be
useful for analysing patient survey, service evaluation or other
quality improvement data, but please note that this course does not
offer training in more advanced statistical tests, such as might be
required for research or in-depth review of clinical outcomes.
