Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre
At Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre we care for patients
who have been newly diagnosed with Cancer, and malignant and
non-malignant haematological conditions.
We have a dedicated Acute Oncology Unit, which is a nurse led
assessment area that patients can attend if unwell following
chemotherapy or radiotherapy, with a 24 hour triage line.
In March 2014, we proudly opened an extension to the centre
which includes a purpose built TYA Unit
(teenagers and young adults with cancer), and a 21 bedded combined
Bone Marrow Transplant, and Haematology Unit, with a day care
facility attached to it, including an Apheresis Unit.

We are keen to recruit nurses who are newly qualified,
but also individuals who already have experience in
haematology/bone marrow transplantation and adolescent
care.
We also deliver Outpatient Services and have two Satellite
Clinics delivering chemotherapy at a community hospital, and a
medical centre in the North and South of the city.
Bristol Heart Institute

The Bristol Heart Institute (BHI) is one of the Trust's flagship
buildings and is home to 21st century care.
The £61million building opened in May 2009. Since then,
inpatients and outpatients have been seen for a full range of
diagnostic and interventional treatments for heart conditions.
In an average year we carry out approximately 5,000
cardiology procedures and 1,600 heart operations.
Specialised Services has a dedicated Education Lead Matron with
Education Practice Facilitators based in CICU. Our nursing and
medical teams are supported by a Consultant Cardiac Doctorate Nurse
and a large team of Cardiac Surgical Nurse Practitioners, Surgical
Care Practitioners, and Specialist Nurses in Acute Coronary
Syndromes and cardiac rehabilitation, heart failure, arrhythmia,
adult congenital heart and a large team of research nurses. The
Division actively supports all staff groups to grow and develop in
their roles and to continue an education pathway to support the
excellent care provided for our patients.
