Visitor facilities

Visiting hours are between 8am - 9pm every day of the week at the BRI.

The BRI's Welcome Centre offers a range of facilities for patients, visitors and staff at the hospital. The centre houses a WH Smith, Marks and Spencer, Costa Coffee and Stockshop, as well as a community pharmacy provided by Boots UK.

There are a number of cafes and restaurants across all the BRI hospital buildings. In addition, the hospital is located within a couple of minutes walking distance of the city centre of Bristol, which has a wide range of eating facilities and options.

Brewnel's Coffe House is open from 7am - 2.30 pm from Monday to Friday and is on level 2 (street level) of the King Edward Building. You can buy a range of light meals and snacks, including jacket potatoes, sandwiches and panini, hot and cold drinks and snacks. Brewnel's also sells a variety of healthy options.

DeliMarché, a restaurant on level 9 of the BRI, is open from 7.30am to 2.30pm serving hot and cold foods. See the menu here

Wheelchairs can be accessed from the main entrance / Welcome Centre. Public telephones are available at the hospital.

A free phone taxi line is available for your convenience. Taxi ranks can also be found close to the Bristol Eye Hospital at the bottom of Lower Maudlin Street and by the Bus Station.

Each bed space has its own television and phone. These services are provided by an external company called Premier Bedside. The phone number for your bed space will be given to you upon arrival. In order to use the television or make outgoing calls, a top-up card will be needed. These can be bought from one of the top-up stations on each hospital floor.
