Professional profile/background:   Trained in Cambridge, Oxford, St George's and Westmead Hospital, Sydney, I specialise in heart rhythm disorders. This ranges from simple clinical opinions on symptoms such as palpitation and blackout to complex procedures including ablation for SVT and AF. I also specialise in cardiac device therapy, with a large experience of biventricular (resynchronisation) devices.
I have published a good deal on prediction of arrhythmia after myocardial infarction which was the subject of my DM thesis for Oxford University. I have more recently published on the use of cryoablation techniques for both SVT and AF, having performed the first cryoballoon ablation for AF in the UK.
I have latterly been Cardiac Lead for the AGWS Network and am Lead Cardiologist at BHI.
I have a growing medicolegal practice and see Private Patients at Spire Hospital Bristol.
