Blending with the local landscape

The plans would respect and blend into its surroundings. The images below are impressions of what the new hub would look like. They include the views that people would have from certain locations, such as Upper Maudlin Street and Marlborough Street

  • The natural slope of the site would help to reduce the visibility of the new hub. The lowest floor of the structure would be set into the steep hill side;
  • The new hub would sit within the buildings that already exist. Dove Street housing, Bristol Heart Institute and the Bristol Royal Infirmary main building are similar heights. It would not be the tallest building in the area;
  • The building façade would combine natural greenery with coloured metal at the upper levels. These features would control light from the hub spilling into neighbouring properties. At ground floor, there would be glazing.
